METROBATAM.COM. Tanjungpinang – The Riau Islands Provincial Government has rented two resorts in Bintan Regency to quarantine asymptomatic COVID-19 patients.
Chief Executive of the Riau Islands’ COVID-19 Handling Task Force Tengku Said Arif Fadillah, in Tanjungpinang, Tuesday (18/05), said Lauhas Village and Agro Resort were prepared as quarantine places for COVID-19 patients after dozens of bedrooms in the Bintan Education Quality Assurance Institute Building which since the last year has been used for full quarantine of COVID-19 patients.
“The number of quarantine rooms prepared at the two resorts is quite a lot. We hope this is adequate, accelerating the healing process for patients, who are asymptomatic,” he said, who is also the Secretary of the Riau Islands.
Arif also highlighted the implementation of independent isolation carried out by COVID-19 patients. The Riau Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force has collected and evaluated the implementation of independent isolation in the homes of COVID-19 patients.
Inadequate housing conditions, and inconsistent attitude of patients in carrying out mandatory isolation during the healing process, have the potential to cause the spread of the virus. Therefore, the implementation of independent isolation will be immediately addressed by utilizing facilities that have been prepared by the government.
Arif hopes that all COVID-19 patients who undergo independent isolation in inadequate places will voluntarily report this to health workers to immediately move to one of the rooms at the resort that has been prepared by the local government.
“The healing process is also influenced by feelings of comfort and safety. The rooms at the resort are prepared for quarantine, which are safe places,” he said.
